Hey everybody!
Happy thanksgiving to all! Nothing much to say today, just spent the night with my grandparents who are AMAZING. It's so much fun to talk to them, my grandpa was a Russian history professor and he's crazy smart.
Hope you all had a good night!

Greetings!
Hi to anybody who might be reading this right now! It's so nice to meet you and if nobody is actually reading this that is totally okay because the point of this blog is basically for me to have an online diary, because I honestly prefer to type more than to write and when I write when I feel like there's some possibility that I might have an audience I think that my writing is less sappy. Not better, mind you, just less sappy.
I think that I've always wanted to have a place where all of my thoughts on the world can be put up.Do you know the website "Stumbleupon"? Best website ever, it is my life. Most people only pick a few interests I bet, what they're really interested in. I think I picked like all of them. I go from cancer research to knitting and then to Buddhism and personality quizzes. Well anyway, I wanted a place where I could put all of my cool findings and talk about what I think and share some things that I think will help people. If at least one person is helped by a cool link that I have found, then it will all be worth it. I will personally scrounge the internet, if not for others, than to help myself find cool links that will perk up my day. That is why I am doing this. And I am sorry that this post is so rambly and crappy but it's like one in the morning and I'm not feeling so good...
Should I start by telling you a little bit about myself? My name is Emma, some people call me Emma Grace, and that's all you really need to know about my name. I think that I'm a pretty versatile person, I fit in with a lot of different crowds. But my best friends, I would have to say, are the nerds, or the self-classified nerds, most of them aren't really nerds. I think that I just have the most to talk about with them, that's all. Plus, they're the nicest of the lot, I think (but never, EVER ask one of my friends about a Charled Dickens novel entitled Nicholas Nickleby...). What I like about my group of friends is that we're so diverse. We're not your stereotypical white suburban clique. We accept lots of people into our groups, we have a ton of different family backgrounds, and we love to do a ton of different things. But enough about my friends. I should probably do some basic profiling here. Here we go:
Name: Emma Grace
Age: not important...I'm not old, it's just literally not important...
Hometown: Holliston, MA (if I had a choice? London, England. best. city. ever.) It's super boring and I'm going as far away as possible for college.
Favorite color: probably purple. But I like rainbows, too. Black is a good one, too...
Favorite movie: it pretty much changes every day. A good one I've recently watched is called "Leap Year", it takes place in beautiful Ireland and has Amy Adams in it who I love, and it's super mushy and romantic, in a totally PG way, but still adorable. No, wait, Crazy Stupid Love. Who doesn't love Steve Carrell?
Favorite TV show: I watch way too much TV. Don't have a favorite but some good, non-cartoon "shows": Bones, Grey's Anatomy, The Office, Pan Am, Psych, and Sherlock.
Pet Peeves: multiple choice exams, the whole "Oh I'm sorry I thought I told you" last-minute -plan routine, perfectionists, tiny children. Models.
Horoscope: Capricorn. Probably the ugliest one but it actually surprisingly fits. In some ways.
Dreams: Too many to count, and you'd probably laugh. But high up there are being a medical researcher/oncologist, being a Nobel Prize Winner, and writing a best-selling novel. I have to pass math class first, though... I won't ever use it, I just have to get through high school...
After-school activities: drama, Leo's Club, Mock Trial, Model UN, chorus. I know, I know, don't judge.
Family: 2 brothers and my dad. I live in a house of all boys.
Favorite Musical: Who asks that anymore? I do! On Broadway? Easily Wicked. Because I'm so Popular. Ordinarily? Chess. Nobody's ever heard of it, but it has Josh Groban in it, whom I adore. Music is amazing, written by the guys in ABBA.
Burning building, 60 seconds, what would I save?: My laptop, stuffed elephant, photo albums, and a gold necklace my mom gave to me, and an antique book my grandma gave to me. Easy.
Favorite book: My longstanding favorite has been "The Thief Lord" ever since I was little. Others come and go but I will always love this one.
Greatest Fear: Cancer.
Best school subject: AP US History right now. Ususally Biology.
Most embarrassing thing I've ever done: shared super-personal information with a room full of classmates. I don't know what happened, it just came right out of my mouth...! It was awful.
Where do I want to go: Switzerland, France, and Germany. I wanted to go there with my mom. I want to spend some time in China, too.
Sorry I went on for so long like that. I think I've just always wanted someone to ask me those questions rapid-fire like that and no one ever has so I just did it to myself... it's actually a great reflection exercise if you want to learn more about yourself. Feel free to share with me or just do it yourself. Maybe we have something in common! That's probably all for tonight as you're probably sick of listening to me go on like this. My regular posts probably won't be this long. Anyway, nice to meet you! Have a great day. Oh, and Happy Thanksgiving!
